Unsere Geschichte

Gänzlich unehrenhaft beruft sich die Narrenzunft aus der beschaulichen Gemeinde Berkheim auf ein diebisches Weibsbild (man munkelt es gäbe davon so einige…), das einst die hiesigen Landen durchstreifte und den ein oder andern Bauernknilch gierig und listig um sein sauer erarbeitetes Hab und Gut erleichterte…

Dazu ein Auszug aus Paul Becks Oberländer Spitzbuben-Chronik:

1742 zu Biberach, der uns mit Buchau nächstgelegenen Reichsstadt, ist eine berüchtigte Diebin und Leutebetrügerin von Berkheim eingezogen worden. Diese machte in Sachen Magie und gab sich für eine heilige Seele aus, welche von Gott berufen sei, alte Schätze zu finden. Wozu, man mag es kaum glauben, ihr aber einiges Geld notwendig sei, welches sie nicht nur einfach, sondern sogar dreifach dem Herrn bereitstellen solle…
